 CampaignsFur-Bearer Defenders has a variety of anti-fur campaigns to help put an end to the global fur trade. Our current areas of focus include:
Municipal Beaver Trapping This campaign encourages municipalities to replace cruel trapping methods with non-lethal alternatives. It also encourages city councils to pass legislation to prohibit cruel traps and to raise awareness of the benefits of beavers in our ecosystem. Dog and Cat Fur Trade The aims of our cat and dog fur campaign are to ban the import and sale of all cat and dog fur in Canada and lobby the Canadian government to legislate honest labeling laws for all fur items. Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Uniform Fur Hats The main goals of our RCMP campaign are to end the use of fur on the RCMP uniform and raise awareness about the plight of trapped animals. Exposing Trapping Cruelty Our ongoing anti-trapping campaigns expose fur trapping cruelty, encourage the public to not buy or wear fur and lobby the Canadian government to pass legislation to protect all fur-bearing animals. |
