Lesley Fox
- Executive Director

Lesley is a certified Humane Education Specialist through the National Association for Humane and Environmental Education (NAHEE). She is also a BCIT graduate in Public Relations & Communications.

Passionate about a variety of animal issues, Lesley has been involved in the non-profit sector for over a decade. Her achievements include lobbying BC school boards to give students the right to refuse animal dissection and she has worked with the BC Ministry of Education to include animal issues in the Social Justice 12 course.

Between 2002-2003, Lesley was the Acting Executive Director for The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals. In 2010, Lesley returned to once again put her passion for fur-bearing animals into action.

Lesley lives in Vancouver and shares her life with her feline companions, Wookie and Daisy.

Adrian Nelson – Director of Communications

Adrian has a rich history in marketing and non-profit work. After studying film in university Adrian opened his own media company, focusing on youth markets and new media. Eventually the need to do something more took over and Adrian dedicated his time to non-profit work.

Working for many years in the environmental sector, Adrian was integral in establishing chapters of the Surfrider Foundation in Canada and still sits on the national board for the Canadian arm of the foundation.

As a strong outdoor enthusiast and animal lover, the anti-fur cause was close to his heart. When an opening arose with The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals, Adrian was quick to act and joined our team in January of 2009. Working along side long-time Directors, George and Bunty Clements, was an enlightening and educational experience for him. Now, as The Association moves forward Adrian hopes to bring more of his experience with social media, design, and marketing to the many animal-saving campaigns.

In his spare time Adrian can often be found hiking remote areas of our coastline in search of surf or relaxing a little closer to home with his wife Chaline and Koa their rescued Doberman.

Andrea Assaly – Office and Membership Manager

Andrea has a Business Degree from the University of Hawaii and brings much administrative experience to this role. Her goal has always been to work for an organization that makes a difference in the world.

Being a devote animal lover, Andrea constantly speaks out for animals and works hard to increase awareness about a variety of animal issues. She has also volunteered for several non-profit organizations including the BC SPCA and International Aid agencies.

In her spare time she paints and walks the Stanley Park Sea Wall with her 2-year old dachshund, Rio.
